Evan Turner Buzzer Beater

Evan Turner is no doubt the Player of the Year in college basketball.  Ohio St. was down by two points to Michigan with 2 seconds left in the game when Evan Turner hit a 3 pointer from 35 feet.

This is the second time I have seen Michigan get beat at the Buzzer.  Kalin Lucas beat Michigan earlier in the year on a buzzer beater.  You would like to think that Coaches learn from previous mistakes but some do not.  This is the second time Michigan coach John Beilein made a costly error at the end of the game.

DO NOT PLAY ZONE DEFENSE ON A LAST SECOND SHOT.  I REPEAT, NEVER PLAY ZONE AT THE END OF THE GAME.

When you’re playing against the best college basketball player, you can’t take a pre-cautionary approach.

It’s bad enough that Michigan played zone, but they didn’t even put pressure on Turner until after he crossed half court.

Players do what Players do and Evan Turner came through in the clutch.  Here is Turner’s last second shot.

Michigan lost because its coaching staff made an error, not because Evan Turner hit the game winning shot.

Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady is back.  Or is he?  Tonight against the New York Knicks he put in over 30 minutes and had 26 points in the overtime loss to Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite the loss, it was a successful debut for Tmac. McGrady went off for 26 points (10-for-17 FG, 5-for-7 FT), five assists, four rebounds, one 3 and one steal in 32 minutes of action on Saturday in his Knicks debut.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the New York Knicks 121-118.  Kevin Durant scored a game high 36 points.

How will Tmac respond tomorrow?

Michael Jordan Tribute Video

Here’s a great Michael Jordan Tribute video.  Michael Jordan is now a NBA executive and minority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats.  He will soon become the first basketball player to own a NBA team.  Will he succeed?  I hope so.  Do you think he takes the job as serious as a NBA Playoff game?  I just can’t help but question his work ethic as an executive and owner.  The game is about to begin.
