Surprise is a freestyle streetball player from Germany. Surprise immigrated at age 14 from Bulgaria to Germany. Early in his search for happiness, he was initially left with nothing. “I did not belong to society, I lived for myself. I had “tried initially,” but nothing. I just had a ball and a t-shirt but nothing happened. He eventually left playing basketball and found his passion in Freestyle Streetball.
His nickname was “Surprise” – he got it six years ago when he attended a visit to the U.S. basketball show of AND1 Streetball with legends such as Hot Sauce. From now on, the isolated immigrant knew what he was born for, trained hard day and night at his tricks – and got better and better.
“One has a trick does not work. I am taking my anger from the world and channeling it through basketball. One time I had to sleep a night in the bitter cold in winter, Surprise said, “I lived only for freestyle streetball.”
It seems that many ballers find their niche and way to express themselves via Streetball – whether it’s on the court playing or in front of the crowd showcasing their skills.

Great to see basketball going global. This may be the solution to world unity and peace. At least it is a start!
