K1X recently got shot some portraits with a few of their ballers. K1X then asked them to give us a quote about their personal relationship to the sport, culture, emotion and hype that is basketball.
The result is an intimate and eclectic collection of portraits featuring ballplayers, MC’s, dancers, DJ’s and entertainers that illustrates K1X’s latest spring and summer 2010 collection.
Kadour – Godfather of Dunk: “Dunk or die!”
Wilson – Performer: “Basketball, Wilson, it’s me.”
Bamba Nazar – DJ & Producer: “Take a loss like a champ and win like a rookie – your motivation in this game of life will never die.”
Dave – Friend of the family: “This goes out to my first love… You gave me the passion – you gave me a bunch of nasty injuries -
you gave me unforgettable moments – you gave me homies… I don’t know where I would be without my one true love, basketball…!?”
Evan – DJ: “My first year in High School I was not known for my high percentage jump shot. My coaches were well aware of this and made it clear that even if I had an open look at a 17 foot jumper
I better pass the ball. One game I had that look and I heard the coach – standing right behind me on the bench scream out, “don’t shoot it!”. I nailed that jumper. It might sound like a cliché, but that
one jump shot made me realize that with anything I wanted to accomplish in my life, hard work, practice and determination could prove even my boldest doubters wrong.”
Harry – One Man Show: “Von nix kommt nix.”
Rufus – Entertainer: “Just cuz u got hops, don’t mean u got skills…”

No doubt Mr. 720 aka The Air Up There won the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown.
Here is a tribute video I made awhile back of some of Taurian Fontenette’s greatest basketball highlights.
Mr. 720 is from Hitchcock, Texas, just outside of Houston, home of Bun B and the late Pimp-C.
Streetball Legend: Mr.720 featuring music by UGK.
