The Orland Magic have a pretty good team this year. If they want to make a run at a 2010 NBA Championship they need one man to step up. His name is Vince Carter. The problem is, Vince made my All-Sometimes Team.
Sometimes he’s great, other times he’s McGradyesque, often disappearing for quarters at a time. In VC’s last three games he scored 13, 25 and 13. In order for the Magic to win a NBA Championship VC needs to average a little over 20 points per game.
I think Vince Carter still has something left in the tank. What he needs to focus on is his mental game. Seriously. He’s not getting any younger after playing 11 years in the league and probably won’t be on a better team than the 2010 Orlando Magic.
My advice to VC is simple. Become “King of the Court.” Work on preparing yourself mentally each and every game. Analyze why you sometimes disappear and why sometimes you dominate. Your vertical leap won’t get your team to the NBA Finals but your mental toughness can.
Vince, people believe in you. Now it’s time for you to start believing in yourself each and every night. Check out Vince Carter’s best Windmill Dunks featuring music by my boy, C.I.U. aka “Mr. Put It on the Line” called “King of the Court.”
